If you're coming by car, pop EH6 6JJ into your SatNav and park in the on-site free parking. You'll find us on Level E. *Parking restrictions may apply. Please check in the car park before you enter the gym. PureGym is not responsible for any parking fines.

Alternatively, buses 22, 35 and 34 stop every 10-15 minutes at the front of the shopping centre.

We're just 2.3 miles from Edinburgh Waverley station.

Edinburgh Ocean Terminal gym reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Puregym is good but needs Covid-19 improvements With gyms now shut again, just to leave a note of what I hope is some constructive feedback for the benefit of both gym users and gyms themselves? It’s personal choice to use a gym of course (for those who can afford it or access one) but the mental and physical health benefit of being able to use gyms can’t be underestimated so when re-opening, the safer the gyms are made, the better for everyone surely? 1. GYM NUMBERS - In what way are gym numbers controlled – is a maximum number defined for each gym? And is this reviewed? 2. HAND SANITISERS - Why is there not a hand sanitiser at the main water fountain – ie the one beside the female changing room - given that this is a high risk area and highly used area? 3. CHANGING ROOMS - Shouldn’t hand sanitisers be at entry points (doors) to changing room areas especially after gym users have been working out? 4. ONE-WAY SYSTEM - What about adopting one-way systems wherever practically possible – including around treadmills, bikes and crosstrainers as well as safe-zoning (white tape) around more equipment? This would also help discourage gym members walking in between equipment to access other equipment which means they are walking very closely past someone using equipment who obviously is unlikely to be wearing a mask when working out. 5. SAFE DISTANCING - Encourage gym members to use equipment furthest away from another member - eg if person on the first cross-trainer or treadmill, then they should be encouraged to use the one furthest away and not the one immediately next to them. Consider one less machine if necessary to allow safer distancing? 6. FACE COVERINGS - Why are gym staff not challenging members who do not wear masks when they are walking from one area to another? Appreciate that some members may be exempt so this has to be managed sensitively as well as making any such members aware of how to obtain an official exemption badge? 7. CLEANING EQUIPMENT - Encourage gym members to wipe down equipment BEFORE and after use as the previous user may not have wiped down the equipment very well – or in some cases not at all (forgetting or, let's be honest, not bothering). 8. GYM RULES - Gym rules page is out-of-date and contradicts rules during Covid-19 – eg bringing in gym towels to wipe down equipment which is not applicable anymore but which was arguably not hygienic in any event as often smears sweat rather than cleans it. 9. NOTICES - Announcements on the gym televisions cannot always be heard etc so surely wiser to make more use of notices – eg on changing rooms doors as you go in and as you go out? There will unfortunately always be gym members who do not behave considerately but I think more can be done by PureGym to manage this better - again this would be mutually beneficial.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great place for a work out Clean safe place to work out, all work out areas taped to mark out social distancing. Lots of cleaning stations to wipe down equipment. The only small gripe was sometimes the outer door at night time would refused your code. But this was sorted out. Also a shout out to the night cleaner, always waves and says hello when he see's you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some not following guidelines but overall good Overall very impressed with the measures that are in place. Would have liked to see the wipes stay as they were much easier to wipe certain bits of equipment. Some members are still trying to train together or not wear masks. This seems to be when staff aren’t around. I understand that staff cannot be everywhere all the time but is there any way that these can be dealt with? They seem to behave when staff are about which is good I guess, and I have seen staff asking about masks and social distancing. Plenty of cleaning materials around and sanitiser which helps when moving around the gym. Thank you for the hard work keeping it open and hopefully the members letting us down will start to listen.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Improvements needed! Gym facilities are excellent in general but this one the first time I had visited on a weekday and was disappointed at the poor condition of the sanitising stations. There were no wipes and some of the bottled spray cleaning solutions weren't working! The showers that were available in the changing rooms were still not working properly either

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some members still not adhering to the guidelines A member exercising between the low row stations at the multi exercise station. Another member telling a member that he was using a piece of equipment when already using one. Very selfishly he was going between the two.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great gym! Being a member for a few year the set up since lockdown and guidelines that have been in place have worked well for what I need out of the gym. Plenty of cleaning materials which are always stocked up at the cleaning stations. Occasionally the wipes are out but always near another station to get spray etc. Staff always on hand cleaning equipment, I have seen them on a few occasions ask members to follow guidelines only to see the members ignore them once the staff members back is turned... unsure how they can manage this better? It is these members that will spoil it for everyone. Most members are following guidelines and being respectful. Access to the centre at non peak hours could be better as if you walk it is not ideal walking down to the blue car park, but this is only a minor issue.
