Edinburgh Fort Kinnaird gym reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent, but USP no longer exists Overall quality of equipment, facilities and cleanliness are fine. Puregym sells itself as a budget, do it yourself/convenient business - that's great and it is why I joined in the first place, but this is no longer the case. You have dramatically reduced the hours when reopened, and recently reduced even more. If your intention was to "protect" the clients (whatever that means), reducing the opening hours is totally counter productive as it crams even more people at the same time. Covid aside, the gym is too busy until around 9pm; the most popular equipments are the power racks and bench racks, why don't you increase the numbers, even if that means removing a few others (e.g. you don't need that many benches in the free weights area). I like Puregym but in all honesty it there was an alternative in the area (same price range but not as busy) I would change in a heartbeat

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than last visit The gym now has panels in between machines and more cleaning stations which should have been there for before.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better than in recent weeks Looks like the management are finally starting to take COVID seriously - its just a shame it took an outbreak at the gym for them to change things. Disappointed that the white wipes have been removed but good to see more cleaning stations and a full time cleaner. Interesting that after increasing the capacity 3 times to cram more people in regardless of COVID its now reduced it to the lowest level yet - lets hope it stays at that levels and the gym management team don't get complacent again like they did previously. This was my first visit to the gym in a few weeks because of how bad in the gym and how little the management cared. Good to see things are changing now however, lets hope it continues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Revised opening hours counter productive Clean, well equipped and well laid out but recent change to opening hours means I'm having to train in much busier gym. Need to change back to spread out numbers. Used to come in very early to avoid crowds, no longer possible. Given the supposed motivation for this change just seems wrong.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good session, very clean and organised for COVID. Very clean, good equipment, areas clearly marked, rules being followed. Very good session, and didn’t have to wait for equipment (0800 session) Some individuals walking around without a mask on however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent facilities and spotlessly clean! Excellent facilities and friendly staff. Very good location with free parking

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Everything is very good in this gym Everything are good Staff are helpful Quality of equipment is over the average but needs to have more space at pick time
Date published: 2020-12-17
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better, but still room for improvement Much better with fewer numbers in the gum, but for some inexplicable reason there was less cleaning materials around. No white wipes and less cleaning spray. Seems overly complacent
