Hello everyone, my name is Ben and I'm one of your Personal Trainers here at PureGym Meadowhall.
Strength training is my passion in life and I want to bring the benefits to as many people as possible. But what are those benefits? Recent research shows weight training is more effective for fat loss than traditional cardio. It is more effective for increasing flexibility than stretching and it leads to stronger and healthier joints, tendons and bones. The positive effects it has on mental health should not be overlooked either.
After 15 years in the gym I have gained a lot of first hand experience working with clients of all levels, from complete beginners to semi professional athletes. For the last 10 years i have competed in Powerlifting reaching the point now where I compete at an international level. To maintain my competitive edge I stay up to date with the latest research and techniques in training theory and application.
